As mentioned the critical hit rating is difficult to achieve at high levels compared to other classes, but this stat is great when your speed reaches the high end and you end up with a hit rating High critical. Some items, particularly weapons, have lines on them that increase your generation Spirit. These will enhance your damage slightly, but as a Monk, you must remember that many of your best abilities have cool downs short which limits the need for more soul. The mitigation measures from scales dodge exponential rather than linear order stacking. For example, tell the enemy you are going against deals 100 damage. Personally, I prefer to have increased attack speed instead it increases your Spirit generation and d3 gold, availability of buff and damage.
